Comments:

Those kids are his, hers and ours from 2 marriages.
Married Sheila Scott (4 kids) in 1973 and divorced in 1986. Then married Debbie Caldwell (1 kid plus her 2) in 1987 and divorced in 2003. Then married Loretta Deatrick in 2004 after re-meeting her at the 35th reunion. She has 1 kid so that makes 8 altogether. Our family get togethers are great with all the kids and 10 grand kids so far...

I went to Northrop Institute of Technology after high school and dropped out as a Junior because of a Soccer injury. Went back to Rio Hondo to play football. After that I sold insurance for Prudential for 4 years and after that went to work for my brother in the plastic injection mold making industry. I did very well and became an owner of Valley Mold & Die Co, Inc., a large mold shop in 1981. Sold that business in 1996 and opened another one with my sons. Then sold that one and retired.

During my career I've received awards from the Society of Plastics Industry (SPI) and Society of Plastic Engineers (SPE) for innovative mold design concepts and manufacturing. My molds were not just plastic injection molds but also die cast molds, blow molds, injection blow, compression for rubber products and transfer molds.

You may have used several plastic or die cast products which were made from the molds I built. To name a few, Mattel Toys: Hot Wheels, He-man, Barbie dolls, Smurfs etc. Logitech: mouse and keyboards, computer bezels. Atari: games and controllers, Apple Computers: computer housings, keyboards and buttons. McCulloch: die cast chain saw housings and components. Hoover Vacuum cleaner housings and components. Toro Co. and Rainbird sprinkler parts. Siemans, Tandy (Radio Shack) and Texas Instruments: calculators, key buttons, flashlights and games. AT&T telephones such as the Snoopy and Micky Mouse phone. The list goes on...

In my personal life I enjoy golf, hunting, fishing and camping. I joined Red Hill Country Club in 1985 and am still a member. I've been down to scratch and Men's Club Champion 2 times and couples Club Champion 10 times. A severe motorcycle accident in 2000 cut my golfing career short, but I still scrape it around. I've hunted deer and Elk all over the Western United States and fished deep sea down to the Guadalupe Islands on long range boats. When Loretta and I purchased our current 27 acres in Three Rivers, we camped every-other weekend for the last 4 years prior to our log home being completed.

Our retirement home is a dream come true for both of us. I was so surprised that Loretta loves the same outdoors activities as I do. Re-meeting and marrying Loretta was the best thing I ever did. It's like I've known her all my life (almost). We are truly blessed with all we have and most of all, having each other. I love her sooo much.
I thought our 40th reunion was a blast!

New : 2-21-2017
We bought a home in Kamiah, Idaho and moved out of California permanently. After selling our rental house in Rancho Cucamonga, we bought this older 1965 home. Next, we sold our rental properties in Three Rivers and finally sold our log cabin main residence there too. Loretta retired as well, so now we are truly living the dream. We have 3 pups, well Daisy is 7 and Hank and Sadie are 5. We both just love where we live, and are looking forward this new chapter in our lives.

School Story:

I remember coming to the United States in 1957 and not speaking a word of English. I went to JG Whittier grade school before they shut it down. I remember Tommy Martinez, Gilbert Gutierrez, Dave Moreno and a few other guys making fun of me because I couldn't speak English. I remember reading in front of the class from a book but not understanding what I was reading.

In the 2nd grade, I transferred to Lydia Jackson grade school and met Jerri Thomas, Jon Bailey, Dave Hall, Tom Hummel, Dave Barber, Rick Botallico, Kathy Teniper, Lori Maze and all the others. We are still friends today and a bunch of us kids met in Las Vegas 2008.

I started playing organized sports there and we played other grade schools, where I would meet many of the guys that I went to High School with. We had a 1960 Pepsi Cola Championship flag football team comprised of players from Lydia Jackson, Longfellow, Lincoln, Orange Grove and Franklin. It was the start for a lot of good athletes. I played wing back and defensive back and I remember some of these guys on that team: Greg Haserot, Tommy Kelso, Dick Hensburger, Doug Havens, Gil and his brother Albitri, Donny Spare to name a few.
My Dexter Jr high and first couple years at Whittier high were a drag because I was so small and had not matured yet, so I wrestled and participated in track and field. I was still funny of course. But growing in my junior and senior years, I played varsity football and baseball, making All League in both sports. After Northrop, I started weightlifting with Jon Bailey and got huge. I competed in the Central California Championship power lifting competition in 1972 and placed 3rd.

I remember cruising the boulevard with Bailey in his '62 Vette everyday, hanging with Ron Kirkpatrick and going up to the Brockman's after football games palling around with Danny Orr and many others. I had a lot of great times in school. Now I love our property where Loretta and each have our own tractors.
