I stayed in school as long as I could, which turned out to be a strategically good idea, because working is really hard. I quit a high-paying, high-stress job and took a few years off. Then I worked for a while as a secretary and recently retired.
Apparently my high school experience would not suggest that I would be a good secretary:
I did not do too well in typing class the first 6 weeks. I was in some other subject and for some reason had to switch to typing class three weeks into the year. So apparently I missed the first day when the teacher said she counted off for mistakes. Once I got my report card, though, I figured it out. Ha!
