I have been teaching in public and private schools since I graduated from ACU 1964. I received my MSEd 1986 from TWU in Denton. I taught in Abilene, Waco, Wichita Falls, and mostly in Arlington where I was selected Elementary Teacher for the district in 1996-1997. Then I was selected by the Regional 11 for the Teacher of the year 1997 for creativity in the classroom. My husband and I traveled extensively in the western part of the US by motorhome and Harley. We enjoyed trips by bike around Lake Michigan, The Smokies, Washington State, Colorado, Indian Lands, Yellowstone, and Alaska. I moved back to Wichita Falls in 2007 after my husband's death. My daughter and granddaughter moved here also. I substitute sometimes at Wichita Christian Schools where my granddaughter attends.
I loved high school. Seems I spent more time with the class of 60 than I did with my class of 61. I remember being shy and mostly interested in classes. I worked in the office and enjoyed the freedom and responsibility it gave me. Guess I enjoyed school so much that I spent the rest of my life working in them doing my best to stomp out ignorance and inequality.
I remember so well going to the Wichita Theater, dances at the Country Club, and P 4 OF COURSE.
