After graduating, I attended North Texas State on a full track scholarship. After graduating from there, I went on to teach in the Corpus Christi area, then back to Wichita Falls. After ten years there, I got a teaching/coaching job in New Braunfels. Next on to Amarillo. I retired from the Texas School system in 1996 and moved to Silver City, NM and started teaching and coaching in the Lordsburg School District. We then moved to Rio Rancho NM where I finished teaching at Rio Rancho High School. In between, I was manager for the Rio Rancho Boys and Girls Club. I retired in 2006. I decided to ride a bike (recumbent trike) cross country. On the 10th day of my trip west, I was hit by a car. It took me a year to get over my wounds. Then I decided to head east on a new trike. I made it to Savannah GA where I stayed with John Tatum and his wife. They were great hosts. A few years later, my wife, Cheryl (Simpson) became ill with colon cancer. She passed away in 2010. Three years later, I married Lorriane. We started full time RVing for seven years. We finally settled down in Tucson AZ. After a couple of years we decided to move to a retirement community. This will probabliy be our last move.
The Rowdy football team and team mates; Coyote football games; Track all three years; "Latrine monitor" where the Spanish class would sprint to lunch and water poured on the floor where almost the entire class fell; the string with the note "HELP" hanging down from the second floor just outside the civics class window; Standing in the hallway between the old portion and new portion before classes started; Pickup football games at Prothro's house; the rained out hayride; the dances, football, and track banquets; Brownies where you could get a very large icky sweet icy drink after football practice and being lucky to have many longtime friends from this class.

I remember the incident, but don't remember the baseball team especially since I was not much of a baseball player. Thanks for the info and happy new year.

I hope that the surgery went well and that recovery goes by quickly. Take care of yourself. I know that you have a great nurse in Patty.

Well, it looks as if we share another birthday. I hope that you enjoy the day. You probably are having a better one than me. I am here washing several loads of clothes. Take care and tell your family HEY!
I am sorry to hear about Susan's passing. She was always bubbly and had a terrific sense of humor. The world has lost a heartful soul.
