Nancy Hord Wachs

I met my husband while in the Marines. After one tour in Viet Nam, he left the Marines, as they wanted to send him back to Viet Nam and I said no. We ended up living in WF till he retired from Sheppard and then we moved to the country, outside of Blum, which is near Lake Whitney. Our son and his family live in the house we owned when we were there and our daughter lives on our land in a double wide, where she raised her three kids. I have 5 grandkids and 5 great grandkids. I worked in the mall in Hillsboro, until our store along with many more stores closed up. I have 5 mini horses and 5 dogs and 2 donkeys. The country life is great as there isn't a lot of traffic or the noise of cars.

I was proud to be part of the second graduating class. I believe I was best known for my blonde hair, more white than blonde. My hair is still the same color only a lot thinner. I wish I had a funny story to tell but I don't. My days at Rider were rough as I had to study harder and more than most with hopes of passing. To graduate I had to have an almost perfect term theme in English. I was luck as an old school teacher lived down the street from us and he helped me with the term theme. I had already joined the Marines and need to pass so I could my boot camp during the summer not winter. I did pass and left for boot camp shortly after.
