I first met Jil when her family moved into a house overlooking the river on 9th street. I lived on 10th street. This was a colonial style house with two columns out front as I remember. On occasion as kids, we would have snacks in what was a type of sun room overlooking the river. She was such a joy to be around, always happy and always had that great smile. After a few years her family moved to another house on 13th street, once again overlooking the river. This was across the street from another one of our good friends, Tom Fishback. She became best friends with Diane Duff who was my girlfriend all through and beyond High School. Such great times and such fond memories with a great group of close friends. Jil was the bright light in any group or classroom. Always engaging, enthusiastic, and a true joy to be around. I had not seen her for many years, but will never forget the joy that she brought to all around her.
David and I have been life long friends. Interesting what Judy said as I first met David when he moved in next door to Tom Fishback somewhere around when we were 7 to 10 years old. Fishback would probably remember exactly. Over the years, he, David Campbell and I hunted and fished together regularly. His business was within about a mile of mine, and we would see each other often until he sold the business and moved to Durham, Kansas. (around 4 years ago, or so). I have so many fond memories of David. Impossible to replace a friend of almost 70 years.

Have many fond memories of Don. Such a nice guy and a fun guy to be around. He and I swam on the swim team at North toghther. Had many fun times in swim practice with Coach Hendershot, and always dis well in the swim meets (except against East and to as lessor extent Southeast. I am so proud to hear of what a career he had. Very impressive!. May God bless him and his family. Rest in peace Don.

David and I first met in 7th grade. Became close friends, which lasted until his passing. Sports in high school, hunting, fishing, boating, camping, raising our families, business, and lots more after high school, and college. There was seldom less than a week go by without us talking during the 58 years that we were friends. He lost his brother at an extremely early age for him. He was a brother to me that I never had. As I write this, the tears come. However, I take great comfort knowing he is in a better place. In my life, I have not known anyone with the amazing drive and determination that he had to succeed after his high school injury. He made his handicap only a burden for him, never for anyone else. Finally, it was impossible to be in his presence without feeling better after being with him. Easy smile, unassuming presence, understanding and engaging blue eyes, a strong, caring, positive attitude. He has a new body now. Rest in peace, my friend. Bob Babst
