Marie Ford at the Pentagon! So cool--I'm really proud of all my fellow Stanley ALCers--Marie, Ginger, Dirk, Bert, Tammy. Wish I knew what David and Jim were up to, but I'm sure they're doing well, wherever they are. I can't believe that I was in Pennsylvania and Massachusetts while you were (are) in DC and Bert was (is) in New Jersey. I love it. Wish you all could be at the reunion.

Just a reminder about the donated raffle items..the volunteer reunion commitee has incured a lot of fees that have to be paid up front, so the rest of us need to help! Send in your money now for the reunion and find something cool to donate for the raffle! Doesn,t have to be expensive- its a great way to get your company name out there, or gift cards for eating or even wally-world. Hell, donate you or your spouse mowing someones' lawn for a morning! (I can already see the jokes over that one!!)Then whatever monies that are raised can help this reunion and maybe even the next! I just don't think its right that the comittee gives time and hard work AND money too (until its collected later) this reunion is for all of us! Get creative with your donations (not THAT creative, Jay Delling! LMAO!) Lookin forward to seein all of you!

Marie Ford (Cecil)

Even though I can't attend, I'm willing to send in a monetary donation. I agree that those of you in-town doing all the planning shouldn't have to incur all the expenses!

Carrie Alford (Loofs)

WOW everyone - thanks for the support. Chris - you're the bomb! So far, we only have 2 items donated for the raffle and obviously need more ;D I took a little time tonight to look at updated profiles. What wonderful lives and families everyone has made for themselves. It's amazing how many have grandchildren. What cutie patooties!
At this moment, we have 99 classmates coming to the reunion. I wonder who will be #100???

08/22/09 12:06 AM #185

Dana Haskell (Armstrong)

Carrie maybe we should've had a prize for the 100th classmate that rsvp'd!!??!! Who knew without sending a single invite via snail mail like we did in the good old days that we'd already have 100 (almost) attending?!?
Marie & Chrissie...thanks for your last posts...really nice to hear...Marie sorry you won't be able to make it this time. The great thing about this website is that it won't quit once the reunion is over. We'll be able to post comments and pictures and keep in touch (yea Carrie!!) through this site. And Debbie Rader Clanton will be taking pictures for us so you'll be able to see who all was there (not the same but close ;-) )

Chrissie Palmer (Palmore)

marie- gonna miss seein ya at the reunion! i have so many memories about you and how dang smart you were/are! always knew you would go far! if your kids laugh at pics or stories of you- tell them to contact me! you were definitely NOT a geek, just a brainiac! personally i ALWAYS knew you were gonna solve the world hunger crisis or maybe even run for president!! (hey, whatcha doin in a coupla/three years from now!) you would get MY vote, girlfriend! LOL

08/22/09 08:49 AM #187

Chrissie Palmer (Palmore)

and Carrie- you are the bomb! thank you for creating and maintaining this site! it really is spectacular! its enabled so many of us to get to know each other waayyy before the reunion- which is very cool. i have enjoyed reading the posts and like you, reading the profiles and feeling a sense of pride about all the accomplishments of our fellow "titans"- (and there are many! and so varied!) and i am excited that it will still be active and up after the reunion. so "thank you carrie!" with your skills maybe you should get on the V.P. ticket with Marie!! (LMAO- ok, i can really see this people!)

Marie Ford (Cecil)

Actually Chrissie, I'm not a great front (wo)man, so you run for Prez and I'll be the VP. I'm great at doing a lot behind the scenes! (That's why I've done everything else on the PTA at my kids' schools but never President.) I'm also not good at playing politics - too honest about everything. Don't have a poker face at all! I've still got 9 more years til my youngest graduates HS, then I'll think about a 2nd career ;).

I told Dana in a separate email that if I lived closer I might have something for the raffle, but not sure what I can help with at this distance. I have a brand new log cabin in Deep Creek Lake, MD on top a mountain that's walking distance to the ski slopes in the winter and a man-made white water rafting course in the summer. Plus it has all the usual lake activities year-round (you have to drive down the mountian to get to the lake). I can offer it up to someone who wants a relaxing vacation somewhere away from the Great Plains! If you think that would be of interest, let me know.

Thanks Chrissie and Dana. I enjoyed building the site and am happy that everyone else is enjoying it as well. I think Chris, Marie and I could do just as good of job running the government as any politician has done so far! I nominate Chrissie for President in the next election ;D

The BIG news is we now have 100 of us attending the reunion!!!!YYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY S-u-c-c-e-s-s!!! I remember that cheer from either Truesdell or South??
Marie - That's one heck of an offer! Are you sure you want to offer up your brand, spankin' new cabin to South High party animals??? Heck, we may rent a Winnebago and make the trip! Think about it..... ;D

08/23/09 09:47 AM #190

Marie Ford (Cecil)

Well, I might have to tag along to "chaperone"! It's an offer of something different to raffle - just don't know if it would be appealing to anyone given the distance. People won't pay money if you raffle something they can't really use! If not used for this raffle, at least anyone who reads this forum knows they can now call me if they want to use it for their own vacation! If you decide to do a 50/50 raffle or something similar, I'll kick in some $$.

Chrissie Palmer (Palmore)

wow marie! that is so cool! very generous! that would be funny if like, 65 people showed up for a weekend of fun! it sounds beaaauutiful! and on that note.. i can offer up a 'romantic weekend get-away package', here in Oklahoma, of chasing my 5 year old around the house! guaranteed you will never want any more children!! bring your good running shoes and be prepared to hear the word NO! about a thousand times! BYOB (oh yeah, you'll NEED THAT!) any takers? LMAO just kidding.. i think.

08/24/09 08:28 PM #196

Chrissie Palmer (Palmore)

my pleasure, barb! i really can't wait to see YOU! my neighborhood BFF! i remember learning how to play "chopsticks" on your parents piano, there in your kitchen! isn't that funny? and BTW my husband says that you guys shouldn't encourage me to keep going on this thing, cause i am a BORN smart ass! (actually more like a la-la-loser with nothing else to do really early or really late!!) love it!

Carrie Alford (Loofs)

Chrissie, Barb & Brenda - We need to have another "Kelly" girls pic taken at the reunion!!! We also need to find Lori Campbell - she hasn't logged in yet.

Debbie Rader Clanton will be taking photos at the reunion and then she'll sell CD's with the photos for not much more than it costs her to buy, burn and mail them. How fun!!!
Carrie

Brenda Fletcher (Klein)

Thanks Carrie for all you've done with the website, it's great! Absolutely want to take a picture with my old neighborhood best buds. So many wonderful memories. Can't wait to catch up. I saw Lori's folks a few months ago when I was in Wichita. They still live in the neighborhood. I'll see if I can get a hold of Lori and give her the info on the website. Looking forward to seeing everyone soon!!

Mary Battisti (Marsh)

Hey everyone -- I can't wait to see everyone. I AM technology challenged so I don't get onto my home computer very often :) Hell I just learned how to turn on the Wii...
and I still needed help from my 16 year old!!!

08/26/09 08:42 AM #200

Marie Ford (Cecil)

Don't feel bad Mary - I can usually figure out most technology just by "playing" with it, but the way my 15 yr old has his Wii set up, I'm not sure how it works and so I've never tried one out either!

08/26/09 08:52 AM #201

Barbara Fletcher (Patterson)

Carrie...how are you? I can't wait to catch up. Thanks too for all your hard work for the class of '79. See you all in September!!

08/26/09 03:04 PM #202

Chrissie Palmer (Palmore)

i hear you too, mary! my sons usually just tell me to "move" when i get on the computer and get lost! its sad. remember at south high when someone took "computer class" and the computer was the size of the room?!! wow have things changed since then.. my 5 year old can work a mouse better than i can! and he surfs the net on disney channel like a pro! i might actually break down and take a computer class someday. its frustrating when you have to ask how to even turn on the dang thing! and a wii?.. yeah, forget THAT!

08/26/09 06:20 PM #203

Mary Battisti (Marsh)

Oh so true Chrissie, so true :) My oldest son is in computer science and engineering. He just roll's his eyes and kindly asks me to move... It will good to see you, Carrie, Barbara and Brenda. I think someone was going look for Lori Campbell too. I remember hanging out at Carrie's house and all of you guys being there. I haven't been in the old neighborhood in a long time. I might have to take a drive when I get to Wichita...

08/26/09 06:22 PM #204

Mary Battisti (Marsh)

Hey Marie :) I'm going to miss you not being there this year...
