As quiet as I was in high school, no one would have guessed that I turned to law enforcement. I worked as an officer for the city of Wichita from 1983 to 2005. When I retired from the city I was the senior officer and trainer in my section (warrants). My favorite thing to do was working the warrant sweeps with the US Marshals. What a rush! When I had been working for the department for about a year, they wanted to wire me and send me in to make a drug deal with one of Wichita's notorious drug dealers. I was a little to "green" for that plus it was on my daughters birthday. Later in my career, I made it my focus to help as many people as I could that became caught up in and didn't understand the court system. Now that I'm retired, I am in the process of creating my own line of greeting cards, wedding/anniversary invitation packets, calendars etc. I also spend time singing and practicing with the Metropolitan Chorus at Chisholm Trail Church of Christ.
Probably the most outstanding school story was the trip I won to Tlalnepantla Mexico from competing in spanish concurso at Wichita State University in the fall of 1978. It was the first time I had traveled that far and it was a very memorable occasion.
