Christine "Tina" Hennessy
February 28, 1944 - August 21, 2021
Mt Hope, Kansas - Christine "Tina" C. Hennessy, 77, passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2021. Tina was born in Wichita, KS on February 28, 1944, to John T. And Christine (Stover) Crane. After graduating from East High School in 1962, she married Bert Dawson and had 2 children, Lezlie and Dena. In 1993, Tina married Michael Hennessy. His children became hers, Jennifer, Brian and Christy. Mike and Tina were together for the next 29 years. Over the years, Tina has worked in the medical and legal fields. Tina was employed by the Wichita Police Department from 1986 until 1993 when she retired for good. Her passions were horses and mountains. She was proud of the number of awards for her horsemanship in the early years. She always looked forward to her annual trips to the mountains in Colorado. As a child she spent her summers with family in Evergreen, Colorado, which were wonderful memories. Tina is survived by her loving husband, Mike; children, Dena (Edwin) Martens, Lezlie (Tom) Northcutt, Jennifer Hennessy, Brian (Hyeon-Jin) Hennessy and Christy (Jay) Patton; sister, Cay (Bill) Crane-Mitchell; grandchildren, Devin, Jaiden, Abbie, Ansen and Asher. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Wulf-Ast Mortuary Chapel, 911 Biermann, Garden Plain, KS.
