L. Kay (Wendt) Nespor
72, lost her battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) on April 5, 2016 after a 2-year battle, surrounded by her loving family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandma, sister, and aunt. Lifetime resident of Wichita. Graduated from East High School in 1962 and attended Emporia State.
Medical Accounts Manager and Retired Hairdresser. Worked with her husband for over 30 years at D&K Hair Styling. Preceded in death by her parents, Erich and Vera Wendt; sister, Dora Dotson; brother, Fred Wendt; sisters-in-law, Pat Wendt, Norma Wendt. Survived by her husband of 37 years, Duane; daughter, Kristy (Tom) Marthaler; grandsons, Gabe and Noah Marthaler of Blue Springs, MO; brothers, Erich Wendt, Jr. of Wichita, Frank Wendt of Kelso, WA, Oran (Joy) Wendt of Clemmons, NC; sister-in-law, Beverly Wendt of Wichita; 4 nieces; 7 nephews; numerous greats and great-greats; step-daughter, Jeanne (Todd) Krenke of Bartlesville, OK; several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three very special, long-time friends, Donna (Tom) Vosper, Jo Martin, Carolyn Drechsler; her Sheltie dog of 13 years, Sophie Lu. She enjoyed crafts, reading, and most of all, her grandsons. She was a member of Countryside Christian Church. No Visitation. Funeral Service will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, April 9, 2016, at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary.
