Anything else we should know?
What has happened in 50 years? I am older for sure. Maybe wiser, but not sure.
I transferred to SMU my sophomore year of college (long time ago), met my husband to be, Steve Moore, and stayed in Dallas. We have been married 44 years.
With 44 years of marriage came three kids and now six grandbabies. (We think we have more to come! )
My husband has been a great team member because as we raised our kids, I also grew and sold a real estate title company twice! Once in 2003, with a five-year employment contract, then bought it back again in 2009. I sold it in 2022.
After more than 40 years in the title business, I retired from day-to-day operations July 31 this year but am still under a consulting contract. My daughter is running the operations now - covering the Dallas Ft. Worth Metroplex, Houston, Lubbock and Bryan/College Station. With her law degree and MBA, she is much better at running the operations than I ever was. I still have a law firm that does mostly document preparation for the title company and a mobile notary service company, but neither require my full-time presence so I am enjoying lots of free time.
In that free time, I serve as Chair of the Dallas Zoo Board and stay active with my City, University Park, Texas. One of my most fun extra -curricular activities was serving as City Council member for 4 years and mayor pro tem for 2 years.
I am still on my journey of retirement, but so far so good!
