I remember Rick from school - and particualry gym class - where I had the 'unfortnue' of drawing his name in a wrestling match (I think the coaches were having some fun). Needless to say, the match did not take long, though he was kind enough to say, 'good try..' :-)

Rick was really a good guy, I spent more time with him after high shool than during.

Lost track of him in the late 70's, sorry to hear of his passing.

Rick and I go clear back to Garrison Elementary and our grade school Cub Scout Troop.  All of our Dads were WW2 guys and wanted no part of camp outs and roughing it.  He was always loud, fun, and the life of the party. He matched up with a bunch of us on the "pre- Covid" get togethers at the local bars or restaurants.  He was still loud and fun.  He'll be greatly missed.

I wish I knew what I was doing, I couldn't get this to post as a link, but you could copy & paste if you're interested. It's a nice article about Rick in the Ozark Fly Fisher Journal that was published on Aug 18th, that a friend sent me.

I didn't know Rick at North but I did get acquainted with him when I worked at the Great Plains Nature Center. He was always willing to help with any fishing related activities. He introduced hundreds if not thousands of children to fishing. What an amazing legacy. Just wish I would have known that we had a shared experience at North.

I remember Rick from Garrison also, playing kickball on the playground.  He was a great person and easy to get along with all through school.  Sounds like he was a great fisherman.  Would have liked to get some tips on fly fishing from him. I am sure he will be missed. I remember the wrestling matches as well, but I got matched uo with Clint Tittsworth, and could not remember where my next class was.
