Dennis J. Menasco, 56, of East Geneva Street, Elkhorn, died Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center in Elkhorn. He was born in Elkhorn on Aug. 18, 1951, son of Elmer and Florence Menasco. He was a 1969 graduate of Williams Bay High School and a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, where he also earned a masters degree in biology and chemistry. He had formerly taught at the Divine Word Seminary in East Troy and presently was employed at Intertractor-International in Elkhorn. Dennis was a member of the Delavan Yacht Club and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Dennis also had Parkinson's disease for several years.
Survivors include his father, Elmer Menasco of Elkhorn; one sister, Kandy (Thomas) LaDuc of Elkhorn; one brother, Billy Menasco-Wilson of Antioch, IL; one daughter, Allisa (Nick) Menasco of Delavan; former wife, Teddy Menasco of Lake Geneva; two nephews, Myron (Carrie) and Tyler; one niece, Bryce (Paul); and one aunt, Marilyn Gasch of Delavan.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Florence.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 25, 2008, at the BETTS FUNERAL HOME, 103 E. Rockwell St., Elkhorn, with Pastor Sean Sweetman officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 until 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Lakeland Animal Shelter, Elkhorn.
