I have many wonderful memories of Todd- I remember meeting him in 7th grade science. We started a band together with Keith Zelazny and Russ Kowalski- We named ourselves "ICE" we were pretty cool- Ha! I remember Todd dressing up as ziggy stardust one Halloween- complete with the jagged lightning bolt across his face. Todd, Keith Z, Tom S. Chuck L., Bill R. Jeff. D all were hired by my church to watch over the old mansion where Breckenridge on Ridge road now stands- I remember Todd setting me up that night- we were seniors, but the house was kind of spooky- no electricity- we ran around the basement and upstairs- Todd found a mannequin head and put it on the outside window sill of an upstairs window where I was sleeeping- he then threw stones from outside agains the window- when I raised the blind I saw the head and screamed like a little girl- Those mentioned above still laugh at me on that one- Finally- Todd set me up to break my base drum head at one of the pep rallies- he offered me $5 if I would go nuts and beat the hell out my drum until it broke- So I did- boy was old Mr. Duer pissed at me. Todd you still owe me that $5- Miss you old friend! We think of you often! Bill Henrich- "Ice" band drummer
I hope Ray McNiece will allow me to post a poem that includes a wonderful piece on Willoughby and several Ridge Acre classmates- It is a pdf file and the selected piece is called "Tackling" found near the bottom. www.case.edu/artsci/wrss/documents/McNiece_001.pdf Thanks Ray!
Just one of those random google searches one does sometimes. I was friends with Todd in 1984-5. He mentored me into audio engineering at Crawford Post in Atlanta. We laughed a lot and one of my memories is having a halloween party together where we painted mannequin heads and put them on sticks in the yard and diligently put together a party music mix tape. I was to immature to really see him through his illness. It happened so quickly. We were supposed to go to Jamaica for Sunsplash 85 around July and he didnt feel well and couldnt go. I think he died that December. The chemo caused him to lose his high end hearing-that really hurt him. I miss him. He was a special person. Your story about him resonates with me. I cant believe his life was cut so short. It could have been any of us. I'm afraid I take living for granted sometimes. eric Santacroce astrojamman@gmail.com
