He was a great friend and always had a smile. He brightened up the room when he entered. He was a hard worker, enjoyed sports and was a terrific softball player. I miss him greatly and still think about him often. His Mom once told me he was special and she was right. Everybody liked Rusty.
I remember meeting Rusty for the first time at Edison playground when we were probably in 5th or 6th grade- The Browning recreation came over to do some kind of mutual activity- when the bus pulled up rusty was playing four square- surrounded by all the girls- smiling huge like he always did- He was definitely the popular, big man on the playground! A genuinely kind and friendly person.
I have some real fond memories of Rusty and Tim. I went to Immaculate until 4th grade and am pretty sure we were in the same class at Thomas Edison. Rusty, Ralph, Brent and I hung out any time we had the chance. I remember Rusty came to a birthday party for me and was making out with one of the girls that I wanted to be with. We hung out all the way through school and had a great time. The last time I saw him he came to my apartment in Pine Ridge Valley and he was telling me about the trip to New York...I keep his obituary in my cookbook and for some strange reason that page opens first just about everytime I pick it up. Needless to say I miss him very much. I'll never forget that constant smile on his face!

Rusty always got on his seat and sang "Bye Bye Miss American Pie" whenever the teacher left the room in 6th grade at Edison!Michael Brigham Sr.
