DUNNELLON -- John Laurence Cable, 66, a retired college professor and author of mathematics textbooks, died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2000, in Dunnellon.
A native of Buffalo, N.Y., he came to Dunnellon from Miami in 1983.
Survivors include his sisters, Elizabeth C. Kay and Sue M. Harig, both of Dunnellon.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Marion County.

OCALA — Edith Cable, 95, a homemaker, died Saturday July 15, 2000, at TimberRidge.
A native of Wilson, N.Y., Mrs. Cable came to Ocala from Miami in 1983. She was preceded in death by her husband, Laurence Cable.
Survivors include her son, John Cable; daughters, Elizabeth Kay and Sue Harig, all of Ocala; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ALS Association.
