Memorial Time
No
My husband served in the United States Marine Corps from 1966 to 1969, and spent 13 months in Vietnam.
I worked at Newfane Hospital for 15 years fulltime as a Telemetry Ward Clerk.
I raised Show Cockers for over 40 years (High Calling Cockers).
I owned a White Dove Release business (White Doves of Niagara) for many years, and have since turned that business over to my son and daughter-in-law.
I was the organist for 35 years at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church, and the choir director there also, for many years.
My husband was a Journeyman Electrician. We were married in Hawaii in 1967 when my husband was on an R&R leave from Vietnam and we are now both retired. We have 14 children...8 boys and 6 girls. We have 28 grandchildren and three great grandsons. We reside a half hour from the theme parks in Clermont, Florida and are loving life! We especially love to go on cruises and have sailed on 9 cruises so far with many in our future. I also make quilts in
my spare time of all sizes. I love fabric and have many sewing machines.
I have one story I really can't tell on here that involved Mrs. French and the Beatles...and another memory I wish I didn't have. Some other ones are Mr. Cable throwing chalk at kids, and slamming his books down on his desk. I remember Julie McCoy telling Mr. Baron she could replace toothpaste in a tube....somehow. I remember Linda Darnell bringing a very large deer heart to school, which she and I stayed after to disect in the biology lab. We became so engrossed in our work that we almost missed the late bus....and just shoved the deer heart in the cupboard and went running for the bus. I think it was on a Friday, during a hot spell. (Ewwww...I feel sorry for whomever found it!) I remember "borrowing" my mother's silver fillagree bracelet that had a beautiful sapphire stone in it..to wear to the dance following the Newfane Basketball game. I sat at the top of the bleachers, started playing with the bracelet, and dropped it!!!! Horror upon Horrors! There was NO WAY I was going to get down through all those people. I waited until after the game to go look for it, and naturally, it was gone. My mother looked for that bracelet for years before I finally garnered enough courage to tell her what had happened to it. It was special to her...a wedding gift from my father. She was gracious and loved me anyway.
Speaking of dances, that brings up one of my most precious memories. Mr. Rasbach, serving as a chaperone or dance monitor (missing the proper word in my brain right now...)...chose little old ME to start the dance. I had the best time that night...danced with everyone! Me! The little wall-flower! God bless Mr. Rasbach! LOL
I am enjoying reading everyone's life stories. We all have so much to be thankful for. Speaking of being thankful, first and foremost, I am grateful to my Lord Jesus Christ for dying for me and making me one of His own. Nothing else matters. God bless you all!
