Geoffrey Mawdesley

I did not graduate. Joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1967 after failing Grade 11. Spent 38 years, minus 100 days in active service. Of those 37+ years, I served 32 of them in the submarine service. I moved back to Windsor during the summer of 2021.

There is an old saying, “you can’t go backwards”. Knowing this before moving back to Windsor, I wasn’t sure that I would be able to settle back in Windsor. I did connect with 2 friends and former RHS attendees shortly after my arrival in Windsor as stated below and we tried to meet up twice a week during my time in Windsor. Fortunately, you cannot take the sea from the sailor and I knew that it was time to return to the Maritimes. I left Windsor in June 2023. My only disappointment is that I didn’t get to meet more of my high school friends and acquaintances.

Played for the Rebels on the Men’s Basketball and Volleyball teams. Have some great memories and have linked up with 2 former students and friends, Doug Dennison and Keith Bremner.
