Does anyone have any thoughts about combining the 40th reunion of NTE & NTW? I don't see the logic behind this idea being they were two seperate schools.

Both East and West had relatively slim turnouts for our 30th reunions, plus the junior high schools from Glencoe, Winnetka, and part of Wilmette were split between the two high schools.  Consequently, many of us know classmates at both high schools and are looking forward to seeing them again.  We plan to have separate junior high reunions first before the evening morphs into the high school reunion.  We've only received positive feedback about the joint reunion and think it will be a memorable event.

Stuart: A couple of comments about your explanation:

1. The size of previous reunions is immaterial. There is no quorum needed to have a reunion.

2. NTE had a significantly larger graduating class than NTW in 1970. That is reflected in the responses (so far) from people attending this reunion: NTE - 80; NTW - 41; NSCD - 2.

3. It seems that this reunion is intended for junior high classmates (but you’re welcome to stay for the New Trier East reunion).

Besides the smaller rooms for the junior high reunions, there are two larger areas that we are planning to use for the high school reunion.  We have a committee meeting tonight and I will pose the question about designating one area for East and one for West.  Would that alleviate your concerns?  Perhaps you would like to join the steering committee to make sure the event is planned to your liking.  You are welcome to join us this evening at 6:30 PM at the Skokie Country Club in Glencoe.

Thanks for the invitation to tonight's meeting. Unfortunately I will not be able to attend. The idea of having seperate rooms/areas for the respective high schools is excellent. My biggest problem with a combined reunion is not being able to locate classmates from NTW (I really don't know anyone who attended East). This problem would be compounded if two-thirds of the attendees are from NTE.

I will certainly propose it, and also suggest the nametags clearly indicate which campus they attended.  Maybe we can get nametags with blue borders for West graduates and green borders for East graduates, too.
