“So Many So Young”
We are here today to celebrate the accomplishment of graduating from New Trier High School
some 40 years ago.
Living on the “North Shore” gave us tremendous opportunities that other suburbs and cities couldn’t compare with.
We had one of the best high schools in the nation, with the best teachers and faculty.
The blood, sweat and tears, the stress of fitting in, whether you were “a Rock, a Jock or a Nerd,” whether you were homely, a beauty or a bookworm.
Today we thank those opportunities for what we have amassed and amounted to today.
We are the end product of those opportunities.
We lived in an era of War, declared or otherwise, demonstrations, poverty, famine, violence, and corruption.
We have lost a lot of great people over the years, “So Many So Young."
We can die from heart disease and cancer, traffic accidents and murder and yet with all of today's scientific accomplishments we haven’t been able to figure out “How to Die of Old Age.”
“So Many So Young”.
To all that have departed us and unable to celebrate this event, “We Salute You!"
