Richard “Rick” Zimmerer, Jr., age 70, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 10th, 2023. Loving father of Kathryn and Diane Zimmerer and former husband to Monica Zimmerer (Graham). Rick is survived by siblings, Marci Slater (John), Bill Zimmerer (Kris), and Jory Zimmerer and stepsiblings Michael Gysin (Karen), Vicki Jensen (Scott) and Cyndy Hanna (Paul). Loving son of Bette Gysin (Bob) and Richard Zimmerer, Sr. (Lee). Rick was a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. Rick lived in Durango, Colorado for 13 years prior to returning to Illinois in 2022. 

He loved the mountains in Colorado and was an avid Chicago sports fan and car enthusiast. He had a passion for life and will be missed dearly. Godspeed Rick.

A celebration of life will be planned in the upcoming months and details regarding this celebration will be shared here.
