Dora was a friend of mine. I remember when my Mom brought us to The South Texas State Fair. We entered a drawing to win a bike. Us, along with hundreds of other kids were after 1 bike. Dora won. I was so jealous and excited for her. I remember when my Dad came home from an ambulance call in the middle of the night. He was crying and trying to tell me and Susie that Dora had passed away. That was the first time that anyone close to me had died.

I too considered Dora to be a friend. That was a sad time for our class. All I can say is; Dora lived life to the fullest. She was special in her own way and I know she has been the cornestone of the Class of 1980.

Thanks Dora! Always remembered, never forgotten.

Dora was truly a special little person. I once dreamed she came back to visit her classmates in a dazzling white dress with the brightest light shining behind her. We were all so amazed at her. That was over 35 years ago, and I remember it like it was last night. God bless her family and keep her soul.

I remember the first time I met Dora.  I went with my grandma to the Beauty Shop next to the old movie theatre in Winnie.  Dora was there with her Mom.  We had a good time playing together. We must have been about five years old.  The day our class learned Dora passed away was such a devastating moment in our young lives.  Everyone loved Dora because she was truly friends with everyone. The memory of that sweet soul will be with us forever.  God bless you Dora!

I became friends with Dora through Robin Spencer. They would come over to the house to jump on the trampoline when she would have a sleep over at Robin's house. She was cute and spunky, and I remember how nice and funny she was. That was a dark day in the halls of EC Jr. High when the news of her death was revealed. Gone but not forgotten, Dora.
