Peacefully with her family by her side, Laurie passed away on December 19, 2001 at the young age of 42 years. Laurie will be deeply missed by her husband of 24 years Don; and her two beautiful and special sons, Ryan (21) and Justin (15) and by Ryan's special friend Tracy. She will also be missed by our special pet Jag. Laurie will be dearly missed by her family, mother Jesse Bevan; Carol (Murray), Joan, Bill (Chris), Jack (Ida), Janice, David (Heather), Lynn (Brian) and Uncle Jim. Also by Don's family, William and Joyce, Bill (Lorraine), Susan, Wendy (Al) and Theresa. She will also be missed by many special nieces, nephews and friends. Laurie was predeceased by our baby Tyler, father William, brother-in-law Bob Sewtlik, Aunty Ivy, and Uncle George. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. West and the wonderful staff in the surgical care unit at the Health Sciences Centre and the paramedics. A special thanks to Dan, Eliaina, Jody and Donna. Laurie was born on August 13, 1959 in Winnipeg and was raised in East Kildonan. In 1973 Laurie and Don met and fell in love. They were married on September 10, 1977 and have never looked back. Over the next 24 years they would raise two beautiful sons in Charleswood, sharing many special times as a family. Laurie was a special friend and wife to Don, and the best mother to Ryan and Justin. Laurie always put others before herself, and her love for her two boys was immeasurable. Laurie was a true sports mom, and enjoyed playing many sports with Don. She was the greatest wife and the special relationship Laurie and Don had over 29 years is reflected in the two fine boys they have today. Laurie, we love you and miss you dearly. Our pain will never go away, and you will continue to be with us each moment as we cherish the many memories we've had in the past. Tyler will look forward to your warm embrace. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will he held on Saturday, December 22 at 3:00p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Reception will follow.
