ELAINE HOLMES
It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing our of dear Mother, Daughter, Grammy, Sister and Auntie, Elaine Carolyn Holmes on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg at the age of 51 years. Elaine is survived by her daughter Valerie Smith (Matt), granddaughters Hope and Danielle, mother Irene Holmes, her brothers Robert Holmes (Barbara), and Michael Holmes (Melodie), sister Allison Harder (Berni). She will also be missed by her nieces Amanda, Camryn and Maya, and aunt, Marian Sutherland. Elaine was predeceased by her father, Dick Holmes, her grandparents Eileen and Nicholas Pidlubny, and Robert and Marjorie Holmes, and her ever-faithful friend, Lady. Elaine was an incredibly kind and generous person. While she never owned many material possessions, whatever she had, she shared. Elaine enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters and nieces. She was extremely knowledgeable about computers, enjoyed her time spent online, loved to write, and was an avid reader. Those who knew her shared in her excellent sense of humour, kind and generous heart, and thoughtfulness. While Elaine suffered from a lifelong illness, she was always able to rise above adversity through her strength, independence, and strong will. She will always be lovingly remembered, and forever cherished. The family wishes to thank all the health care providers, too numerous to mention, who have assisted with the care of Elaine through the years. You are all angels. A memorial service will be held Friday, October 8, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home located at 220 Hespeler Ave. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society in Elaine's honour.

Elaine,
I'm so so sorry to hear this very sad news. I'll miss all your facebook messages...you made me laugh....and now you've made me cry....I remember your health issues way back when we went to Hampstead School together. I never thought of it as anything other than....that's Elaine. I've really enjoyed reminicing with you and hearing about your family. Most of all I was thrilled when you told me you had a daughter. Then I was shocked when you told me you had grandchildren. Yes shocked because we just don't seem old enough for grand kids, lol. But I was so happy that you got to enjoy a daughter, her growing up and then getting married and then being there when her kids came along. You were definitely too young to leave your family and all of us friends Elaine....but I know, that you are in the best place in the world.....and you are not suffering but smiling and watching over everybody. Now your a REAL angel...so fly my friend....be free....and enjoy the peace and serenity......we will meet again one day...we will reminice and fly together...
To Elaine's family,
I am so very sorry for your loss. I know how devistating it is when we lose someone we love. Elaine would rather see you celebrate her journey to heaven that suffer with the pain of her leaving you. Just think how comfortable and happy she is now....wave to her.....talk to her....tell her you love her.....she hears and sees you all...gone forever not.....living in eternity....yes!
God Bless!

Sadly we have lost yet another friend, I hope that we all realize how much we have in our lives.
We need to cherish every moment with our family and friends.
I look forward to acknowledging all that have past before us at the Reunion, we have lost some very special people in our lives. This just shows us that we need to come together and share all the good and bad that has happened in our lives, we have alot to share.
Rest in Peace Elaine
