THERESA MARY ZAKALUK (KOLBA)

Those of us that loved her were inspired by the strength, courage and dignity that Theresa displayed during her brief battle with cancer. Theresa died with her family present at Selkirk and District hospital on Thursday, October 19, 2000. Theresa was born November 26, 1959 at Camp Shilo, Mb. and raised in Winnipeg. Her memory will be forever cherished by her husband Larry and daughters, Leanne and Lyndsay; her father Peter(Dorothy); her mother-in-law Jean (Greg); her sisters, Susan (Barry), Margaret (Don), Kathy (John);  brothers, Tom (Joanne), Peter (Gail), Chris (Michelle); brother-in-law Greg (Karin) and sister-in-law Kathy (Mike); nieces, Jennifer, Jodi, Jessie, Tia, Hayley, Lynn, Rachelle, Amber; nephews, Ian, Tom, Shane, Danny, Brett and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Theresa was predeceased by her mother Cecilia. After marriage, Theresa resided at Gull Lake, Mb. where family and friends were always welcome and the door was always open with a ready smile and coffee. Theresa loved when family and friends came out for late-night bonfires and corn roasts. Theresa was a devoted wife and mother and leaves her family with many treasured moments. Theresa worked for Revenue Canada for many years and developed many friendships. At her request, honorary pallbearers are her brothers, Tom, Peter and Chris; her brothers-in law, Barry, Don, John, Greg, Mike, and her nephews Ian, Tom, Shane, Danny and Brett,.The family would like to thank the staff at Health Sciences Centre, Third Floor, Trauma Unit and Selkirk and District General Hospital staff for all their compassionate care and support of our family.
