Started with the First National Bank of Atlanta in 1967. Became Wachovia in 1985. Moved to Winston-Salem in 1993. Retired in 2002, 2 months short of 34 years. The entire hitch was spent in the Control Department, although it wasn't always called that.

Bill was among the first people that I met on the Wachovia side of the house as I was assimilated into the combined organization back in 1986. He epitomized the values and virtues of the company and I felt honored to be on the same team with him. I am saddened to learn of his passing and the health issues leading up to it. my best wishes to go his family.

Seems like I just did this, but can't not write to wish you a happy birthday. I hope you're having a great day and that you are continuing to enjoy retirement. All is well here. We are enjoying being back in Atlanta and seeing family a lot more often, but I miss The Shore and Winston-Salem. Both were great places to live, but as we approach our 80's, we're where we need to be.
