Mr. Dennis Vernon Hodges, 47, of Old Town Drive, Winston-Salem, died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, unexpectedly.  Dennis was born in Forsyth County on Dec. 28, 1953, to the late Vernon Odell Hodges and Muriel Blevins Hodges.  He was a self-employed carpenter.  He attended Dobson First Baptist Church.  Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Sharon Gates Hodges of the home; a step daughter, Taryn Mabe of the home; his mother, Muriel B Hodges of Winston-Salem; two aunts and three uncles, Mary Nance Tuttle and Ronald Tuttle of Winston-Salem, Barbara B. Steele and Windell Steele of Dobson and Chester B. Blevins of Winston-Salem.  Dr. Van Lankford conducted the services before Dennis was laid to rest at Dobson First Baptist Church.
