Dee Ann Smith, born on June 19, 1954, passed away peacefully December 5, 2024, adding to God's list of angels. A devoted mother, she was affectionately known as "Mama" to her two beloved daughters, Elizabeth and Rachel. Her nurturing spirit extended to her role as "Ma Dee" to her three treasured grandchildren, Nathan, Mason, and Amelia, who brought immense joy to her life.

Dee Ann was preceded in death by her mother, Jeannine M Smith, whose memory she held dear. She is survived by her father, G. Dee Smith, and his wife, Jane, who provided steadfast support throughout her life. Her daughters, Elizabeth and Rachel, along with their families, continue to honor her legacy of kindness and compassion.

Throughout her life, Dee Ann was known for her unwavering dedication to her family. Her home was a haven of warmth and laughter, where she created countless memories that will be cherished by all who knew her. Her love for her family was boundless, and she took great pride in their accomplishments and happiness.

A proud graduate of Reynolds High School, Dee Ann furthered her education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her life was a testament to her love for family and community. She was an active member of the Home Moravian Church, where she served as the secretary to the Women's Fellowship and volunteered with the Candle Tea. Her commitment to service extended to the Junior League and Smart Start of Winston-Salem, where she dedicated countless hours.

Dee Ann's leadership shone as President of the PTA at Forsyth Country Day School, and she played a significant role in managing multiple family businesses.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Cadence of Clemmons, the dedicated nurses at Forsyth Medical Center, and the caring team at KBR Hospice House for their support as she was being called home.

Dee Ann's life was a testament to the power of love and resilience. Her gentle spirit and generous heart touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be remembered for her unwavering strength, her infectious smile, and her ability to find joy in the simplest of moments.
