Comments:
After school I join the Army and was sent to Germany for 2 years. While in Germany I ran into Shawn Lowenthal (Brandon Lowenthal's brother) Class of 1988. He said that Brandon was now in the Army and stationed at Ft. Cambell, KY. Well I went to Desert Storm as a forward observer. I don't talk about that much to avoid the demons that come from killing other humans beings and watching a couple of friends die.
Anyway, after Desert Storm I returned to Germany. Got drunk a few million times with Shawn and just had a blast at October Fest 1991. Sorry, I am unable to locate those pictures of us at this time maybe I will bring them if I can find them.
I then get orders to go to Ft. Campbell, KY along with a Ed Bacus my roommate and dear friend. Well, I get to Ft. Campbell and the first person I see is Randy Lott the mechanic from my unit in Germany. Of course like all things we went and got stupid drunk together. After that I looked up Ed and we went out partying and the like.
One night at the club Joe B's I ran into a woman who stole my heart forever. Problem she was married to a controlling man. With Ed's help Pam (my wife) and I started to see each other here and there. It grew quickly into more and more each day. We could not stop wanting to be together. Well one night I was supposed to meet Pam at a resturant. Of course the "Fellas" got me to go out with them that night.
Yes you guessed I stood her up. While bar hopping with the "Fellas" I ran into Brandon. Of course we got plastered that night as was par for the course. I was a happy drunk. Well low and behold Brandon's in the same unit as Pam's husband. Now it's on with Brandons help Pam and I decide to live together for a while. She was only married to her ex for about a year when he went to Desert Storm and cheated on her.
Well Brandon tells us that not only did he cheat but was still cheating on her. We all even went to Florida together and stayed at Brandon's parents house. Pam got her divorce and we then got married. Brandon was also at my wedding and he stayed over at the house a few times.
Then my wife became pregneat with Blake. He is our only child due to complications my wife had. Then Brandon got orders to go to Germany to run for the All-Army Cross Country Team. He said he would write and give me his address but before he could do that I had orders to Ft. Bliss, Tx.
I was at Ft. Bliss, Tx for 1 whole year then came to Colorado Springs, CO. Been here ever since and love the weather in the summer. Reminds me of the summers in Germany, nice.
While at Ft. Carson, CO I tore my knee and the Army told me thats it you are unable to perform your job "Get out". I the got my degree in Criminal Justice and my Commercial Helicopter Pilot License. I patrol the streets and the air above the city of Colo Spgs.
Then in 2003 I was having headaches and say the Dr... He told me that I had a Brain Tumor about the size of a tumbnail. In April of 2004 I had the Tumor removed with no complications at all. My Nureosurgeon said only about 1% make a complete recovery. I was not on the active police roster for 8 months total. Then in 2008 because of some medication problems I developed AVN or A Vasular Nercrososis (basically where your bone dies) same thang Bo Jackson had. So, I had to end up replacing my left shoulder. Funny thing about all this it can only get better from here. One thing forsure I could nver have gotten through this without my wife. Thats about it I am working on getting another degree right now as a Professional Pilot thru Utah Valley University. That way I will fly more and patrol less (yeah right, they never use us that much but it is fun when they do).
Thats my life in a nut shell of course. I am dead for telling how Pam and I got together. She don't like for others to know she was married to a creep for 1 1/2 years. Pam did tell me that they were already to split before I showed up, she says I was just icing on the cake. Besides you should hear it from me before Brandon opens his big mouth. Well update on me the Colorado Springs PD decided to cut the funding for our Bell Ranger Helicopters and sold them on E-Bay. I would never believed it, had it not been for my own eyes. I have decidied to leave the department and return to school and get my fixed wing cerifications. So, I am changing my career to a pilot. I am tired of chasing the criminals and always going to court.
