Joel was such a dear soul. May he rest in peace. I think our last contact was after our last reunion, on one of the anniverseries of the assasination of President Kennedy, remembering together that frightful day in high school.
Joel was one of my early childhood friends (along with brother Richard) We knew each other from about 6th grade on, and we played tenor sax together in the "Cheltenaires" and our little band "The Offbeats". It was very sad to hear of his passing in 2008.
I am so sad to hear about Joel's passing. My memories are clearest of Joel in junior high school. He was not enjoying hebrew school. Also I remember how he was always on a diet to make weight for the wrestling team. And Richard wasn't! In fact I was just telling my grandson about this when he started wrestling this fall in 9th grade.
Joel and I sweated and grunted side by side in EP and Cheltmham football. And made some music back at EP. There is a certain brotherhood we sharted from all of that, and were friends through our years at Penn.
think of you often my good friend.many fond memories of our tennis and softball games over the years.miss you best to patsy and richard, bobby steinberg.
