Roger Gorman Gorman

I got a couple of degrees from Wright State and Accepted a job as an instructor at the University of New Orleans, where I met my first wife. We moved to New York after my first year at UNO, and I taught there for two years. My oldest son was born in New York. My wife didn't like the cold weather, so we moved back to Baton Rouge where I taught for 3 years. I was then recruited as a staff writer in the Tulane Development Office. After a few months, I was promoted to Assistant Director of Major Gifts and worked on the Tulane Athletics Campaign. My second son, Taylor, was born here in New Orleans.Within a year, I was recruited to Head up the Development Program at Children's Hospital, where I worked for 28 years until my retirement in 2017. During my time at Children's, my staff and I raised more than $200 million. I met my second wife, Patty, at Children's and we have been married for nearly 23 years. We adopted our daughter, Grace--the apple of my eye--from China.
