This is Sally's son, Derek Thaxton.
It’s hard to find the right words to share this shocking news. My heart is breaking as I announce that my mother, Sally L. Shockley, suddenly passed away from a heart attack Sunday evening. She was the most absolutely amazing mom and women in the world.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 28th from 1-4 pm at Shaw & Sons Funeral Home in Yakima, Wa.

I am shocked to hear this sad news, and my heart breaks for CJ, Derek, John, and for those precious grandbabies who will grow up without their Grandma Sally! I made a spur of the moment trip to Yakima, just to see Sally, only 10 days before her passing. We went out to lunch and had a great time catching up with each other's lives. I am so thankful for that visit and for that last hug from a dear friend. We are at THAT AGE, people ... don't put things off! Rest in peace, Sally ... breathe easy ❤️

I will miss you everyday. We were friends for 48 years & supported each other through our best of times & worst of times. You were always my champion when I needed it most. My heart breaks for the boys. Rest in peace my friend.Tom Hinman
Oh Sally.... You will be missed! Over the years we had a blast! You always made me smile, laugh, and sometimes cry. Everytime I go by a hat store, I'll think of you. Anything to do with a Fire Dept, I'll think of you. Everytime I'm in a bar, I'll think of you. And especially, everytime I see a "Flying Pig", I'll think of you! You were definately one of a kind and you broke the mold! Save us a spot and give BP a hug from us! RIP Cadet! ♥♥♥

The four of us got together every year or two throughout our adult years- catching up on our news, commiserating in our pain, rejoicing in the triumphs, & laughing until our cheeks ached! I so loved these precious times together with Tracie, Carol, you, & me! We will miss you, dear Sally. ❤️
