Steven Keith Pitharoulis, age 64, of Yakima, passed away on March 18, 2025, at Arcadia Parkside in Union Gap, WA. He was born on October 4, 1960, in Ellensburg, WA to Nick & Barbara (Caudill) Pitharoulis.
Steve and I became friends in band and enjoyed an incredible friendship that lasted close to 50 years! After graduation, Steve and I were roomates. We had so many memories together.
One of the best memories was when I had to bungie cord him to my motorcycle after we left a party in the Dalles, OR. another one was when Scott Fisher's mom entered Steve and I in the Washington State Doubles Bowling Championship! I bowled a little better than my average, but Steve was unconcious! We finished 5th!
Steve was a trooper and nothing much bothered him, but he was also kind of a recluse. He didn't go out much.
Over the years we lost touch with each other. Every now and again we would see one another, but we never really got together much. About 7 years ago after his wife died, he started seeing a friend of ours from the old days.. It was good seeing him happy again and we were back in touch. BBQ's, gatherings, etc...
This last year was extremely painful for him.and now he is no longer in pain. RIP Steve, you will be missed!
