Alison graduated from Whtiman in 1986 and then worked back east in Boston for a couple of years before starting medical school in the early 90s at the UW. My wife and I and others saw her pretty frequently in Seattle and elsewhere after high school up until the time she started medical school. I believe she was diagnosed with the degenerative form of MS  in the early 1990s after her first or second year of medical school. She was in and out of medical school over the next years but ultimately graduated from the UW in 1997 and moved to Boston for a medical residency. My wife and i had dinner with her in Boston in the spring of 1997 as she was in the midst of her residency; by that time the disease had already taken quite a toll on her and she knew the prognosis was challenging. Nonetheless she was excited about completing her residency and moving her career forward from there. After 1997 we corresponded with Alison and her parents on occasion as the disease progressed.

John Joynt and I attended Alison's funeral in suburban Boston in 2004 and reconnected with her parents and with her sister Martha. Alison's parents live in suburban Boston (Concord, MA) and her sister Martha (Ike class of 85 I think) is married with 5 or 6 children and lives in New Hampshire. I believe Alison is buried in Cambridge, MA.

Alison was planning on doing big things in the world of medicine, and her death was a tragedy, especially for her family and also for all of us who knew her. My wife and I however are thankful for the many fun times we had with her over the years.
