Martha, age 64, was born in Detroit, Michigan, on May 3, 1958, and went home to be with the Lord on April 6, 2023.

Martha was raised in Dearborn Heights, Michigan. She worked for McDonald's after graduating from Crestwood High School in June of 1976. She was hired by Garden City Hospital and assigned to housekeeping, then promoted to Admissions of Patients. She was a file clerk and secretary in the healthcare industry for several years.

Martha was diagnosed with cancer in 2019 and refused chemotherapy due to the fact that she was a caregiver for her bedridden fianceé. She was preceded in death in 2000 by her father Neron Neson Nesmith, who served in the Air Force in Guam during the Korean War in the early 1950s. She is survived by her mother Jean Nesmith, and her siblings Neron Neson Nesmith, Jr., Theresa Nesmith Hodge, Jeanette (Jenny) Nesmith Metz, and Diane Nesmith-Michnuk; her fiancée, Ronald Cznarniki.
