I retired from Sarasota County Commission at the end of 2010, after 14 years of public service.

Have done some traveling, lots of reading and volunteer as President of Board for the Library Foundation for Sarasota County and Chair the Positive Youth Development Council.

So nice being in control of my time.

I was a County Commissioner in Sarasota County, FL since 1996. After St. Andrews I lived in Charlotte and Raleigh NC working for State Govt. I moved to Ontario, Canada in 1978 where I married an Austrian/Candaian and worked in economic development. We brought a home in Venice, FL in late 80s. My husband died in 1991. I worked in real estate and have been active in civic affairs before running for elected office. My son lives in Austin, TX.
