Chomycz, Bud TROY Bud Chomycz, 74, of Troy, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, in the comfort of his home. Born in Germany, he was the son of the late Onufer and Anna Tymocko Chomycz; and the beloved husband of 48 years to Angie (Aniela) Jedynak Chomycz. Bud, as a young child, along with his parents and siblings, immigrated to the United States in 1950 and settled in Troy to begin a better life. Mr. Chomycz was a U.S. Marine Corps. veteran, proudly serving our country during the Vietnam Era. Upon returning home, he continued his service, but this time for the safety of the citizens of New York as a N.Y. State Trooper, where he remained until his retirement in 1993. During his time as a State Trooper, one of his many duties included serving as a firearms instructor, and the Governor's Detail under Gov. Mario Cuomo. After retiring, Bud enjoyed photography, training his white German Shepherds, but most of all spending quality time with his beloved grandchildren. Survivors in addition to his loving wife Angie; include his daughters, Janie (Pete) Juste and Maria Jedynak; his three adored granddaughters, Alayna, Julia and Tatiana Juste; three sisters, Irene Tumlin, Jean (Ed) Monell and Mary (Glen) Riggio; he is also survived by his father and mother-in-law, Stefan and Maria Jedynak; brother- in-law, Gene Yedynak; as well as several neices, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral procession will begin at 9 a.m. on Monday, from the Wm. Leahy Funeral Home, 336 3rd St., Troy, to the Protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, Troy, where at 9:30 a.m. funeral services will be celebrated with Father Mikhail Myshchuk officiating. Interment will follow in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Watervliet. Family and friends are invited and may call on Sunday from 1-4 p.m. in the funeral home with a Parastas service at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bud's memory would be appreciated and may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
