To give you an update on myself, I retired from the New York State Office of Children and Family Services nine years ago. A few years earlier I retired from the New York Air National Guard with a combined service (active and inactive duty) of 26 years. When I left the State, I took a position as Director of Finance and Acting CFO for a large child caring agency in Westchester County. I retired from there when I hit 62 (June 2006).
My wife (Betty) and I have two boys, Stephen and Eric. Eric at 26 is still single and Stephen at 32 is married with one son. He and his wife Christina and baby live in Boston. My wife retired this past summer from Samaritan Hospital which now allow us to spend more time at our place in North Carolina. We had purchased a 3 bedroom condo on the beach several years earlier and could only get to use it for a couple of weeks a year while we were working. Now we will be there 4-5 months a year and 5-6 months here and the rest of the time who knows where we will be.
