Carolyn Rose Roman Gallese

Married to Paul D. Gallese for 34 years, until his untimely death in 2004. We met in grad school in Boston (he in law, me in journalism); settled in Wellesley Hills, MA, where we raised our two children, Amy and Eddie, who are now generous-minded, caring, and productive young adults.

Reported for The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg News, national consumer and business magazines, writing under the byline "Liz Roman Gallese." Transitioned to "content" development with the explosion of the Internet at the turn of the 21st century.

Currently exec producing/producing a feature documentary, Women of '69, Unboxed, a look at a '69 class at a women's college reflecting on lives shaped by the unprecedented societal upheavals of the '60s. The women speak out against the backdrop of their highly creative senior portraits, which were placed loose-leaf and unnumbered, in the spirit of the times, into a "Yearbox" rather than a conventional yearbook.

9th grade--elementary algebra taught by my aunt, Mrs. Josephine Errera.
10th grade--writing my "autobiography" in Mrs. Dorothea Burkhart's English class.
11th grade--the Dardanian staff trip to NYC chaperoned by Miss Antoinette Lewis.
12th grade--Mr. David Treharne's creative writing class. "Of course, you can use sentence fragments!" he said one day, which struck me as sacrilegious but forever expanded my writing horizons.
