Yvette Townsend Ingram

Well, I lived in Charleston for 8 years while attending WV State (University). I graduated in 1993. I headed to Charlotte, NC in 1997 where I met my husband, Nate. The rest, as they say, is history! We've been married for a little more than eight years and we have 2 children. I work at an HBCU, Johnson C. Smith University, and I love it. Being part of a child's education, no matter what the age or in what capacity, is the best experience ever!

Since somehow I emerged from WV with a love of education, I'd like to use this space to give a big "shout out" if I can to all of the teachers who left a very favorable, lasting impression on me. I hope you're reading this! Ms. Betty Bell, who actually worked at Gary Elementary--you are the reason why I excel in my profession! When I make it, you will too! Mr. Page, who taught Algebra--thank you for taking the fear away! Ms. Cline, your kindness and your way of teaching inspired me. Ms. Peterson and Ms. Bushnell also left lasting impressions. I say, thank you.
