I have such wonderful memories of my friendship with Joann. She was a fun-loving, gentle spirit. She was always a loyal friend. She and I had plans to room together at Anderson College. After graduation, however, her dad moved the family to St. Louis to find work. Over the years we kept in touch somewhat. She married Ron Smelik and had 3 children (two girls & a boy). It was very difficult to lose such a sweet friend.
