Jerry Parsons

Profile Updated: May 2, 2017
Residing In: El Dorado Hills, CA
Spouse/Partner: Patricia Anne Parsons
Occupation: Retired: 30 years with Xerox, Realtor since
Children: Kelly, Andrea, Chris and Scott. Six grandchildren
Your life since graduation:

After receiving a BS in Aeronautical Engineering at San Jose State, I married, went to work for United Airlines in San Bruno. After two years I changed companies and got laid off from that job after 1 1/2 years. That brought me to Xerox in San Francisco, then the entire Bay area as Engineering Manager. Several years later after two boys and a divorce, I was living in Salt Lake City serving as a National Service engineer for Xerox
That job, was for me, the greatest job in the world-allowing me to see most of the US, Canada, the Pacific and a little of the Far East and also introduced me to my future wife Pat. She was a manager working out of San Mateo. After all that time and distance, I married someone that attended Menlo Park High (class of 1959).
Pat brought two adult daughters into the picture. Since our marriage, we have a total of six grandchildren from 23 down to 3 years.
Since retiring from Xerox in 1998, Pat and I moved, first to Camino, Ca and then El Dorado Hills CA. I have worked as a realtor since then.
Now, spending seven months a year in Palm Desert. Working part time at
The Living Desert in the garden nursery.

School Story:

My school memories are all good ones. Lots of good friends, male and female. I think we lived and attended high school in a special time. I am sorry that others could not have the good times we had.

Travel/ Places you've visited.

My job allowed extensive travel. I have been to 46 of the 50 states ( I missed Vermont, Maine, Rhode Island and Mississippi), plus Puerto Rico, Guam, Johnston Island, Saipan, South Korea and Canada (east and west). Personally, the most exciting and interesting job imaginable.
I have traveled to England, France and Italy with my wife and Australia with my son. However as you might guess, if I never see another airport again, I will be happy.

Current Hobbies or Sports you enjoy.

I swim, garden and travel with my wife

Exciting or memorable experiences you've had since you left Carlmont.

Five trips. (1) Fishing trip with three friends on the Kobuk river in Alaska for two weeks. Above the Artic circle. Saw no human beings until we got carried downstream to a native village after six days of rain tripled the size of the river. We ended up spending three extra days in a native village as our seaplane ride home was busy making emergency trips. (2) Waiting five days in Saipan for parts. (3) Trip to Europe with my wife-I could move to Italy. (4) Honeymoon trip to Las Brisas overlooking Acapulco and the pacific and staying in private casitas-each with a pool and eating dinner above the bay. (5) Business trip to South Korea where I had an interpreter the entire trip and stayed in Seoul in a local hotel and was royally entertained by the employees of Xerox Korea
