In Memory

Brett Webster - Class Of 1977

Brett died of an cerebral aneurysm after having a heart valve replaced with one from a pig. The value replacement procedure seemed successful where shortly thereafter  he was up and talking/walking and making jokes, much to everyone's relief. He joked about how he will be looking at pigs differently from now on! He was making plans for the future when,  unexpectedly, the aneurysm occurred.

True to his character, his memorial service was attended by many where the Chapel was near full. Friends from school days/work/wherever fondly/emotional shared their feelings and memories. We were reminded of his nickname "pie" short for pie-crust, given by a football coach, and carried with pride. His odd way of dancing. His loyalty, His friendship. He has an will be missed.

For me, Bret grew up across the street from us and was always a good friend, like a brother. He was well liked, had a great sense of humor, and courageous.

Regards,

Steven Gaffney
