It's been a while since an update so here we go.
The cutoff for funds to be in for the Nautica Queen is September 19th if you pay by credit card and September 25th if you pay by check. It's only 3 weeks away.
Here is a new update about the reunion. Since the last update, we had the following people register for the Meet & Greet: Steve Nieman; Debbie Turney (Pettys); Mary Heyne (Miller); Martha Irwin (Vassel); and the following register for the Meet & Greet and Cruise: Cathleen Wing (Disbenett) and guest; Bob Belz; Roger Voisenet and guest; and Tom Hardy and guest.
We currently have a total of 49 for the cruise. Last I talked with the cruise director, they were about 1/2 full. Don't get left out, register ASAP. You can call me at (440) 315-3008 if you have any questions.
If you are planning on going to the Meet and Greet only, please register so I have an idea of how many people will be there.
We were just informed that Ken Onk passed away in May of 2016. Please let us know if you have any additional information.
I'm sorry to report that Janet Shields Calvin, 67, passed away from cancer on June 23, 2017 at the Western Reserve Hospice in Westlake, Ohio.
Just a few updates for the reunion. I just talked to the cruise and they are almost one third full, so I'm asking that you register and get your payments into me ASAP.
All people signed up for the cruise, also plan on attending the meet and greet at Tony K's on Friday night. Here is who's signed up for the cruise:
Mike WROBEL -2, Gene Berg 1, Jim Slater 1, Gail Brown (Steiger) 2, Karen Osborn (Carr) 1, Dick Haynam 2, Diane Merritt 2, Mike Murphy 2, Denny Wigert 2, Bill Sagaser 2, Bob Bell 1, Charlene Keesy (Hanchak) 1, Jane Welty (Schult) 2, Tom Bates 1, Leslie Douglas 1, Sally Dean (Swegan) 1, Jim Colvin 1, Angela Kuder (Hulligan) 1, Betty Fitzgerald (Luff) 2, Paul Palmentera 2, Margie Luff (Glaros) 1, Pam Hardy 1, Gary Martin 2, Gary Eisele 2, Mark Green 2, Sandy Griffin 1, Kim Wertz 1.

If you know of anyone that is not signed up on the Class Creator website you might want to ask them to do so. It's free, no spam, no selling your name. It is the best way for us to maintain contact. Who knows, we may have another reunion in the future.
One last thing, as I'm contacting our classmates, a number of them cannot attend because of various health issues. I'd ask you to keep all of our classmates in your prayers. I'm not mentioning their names for privacy.
Here’s the latest on our 50th reunion. First of all the dates. We have decided on September 29, 30 and Oct 1 of 2017. There were a lot of opinions on having it earlier like May or during the All Class reunion in July, and even later around Thanksgiving, but most of the responses were for early fall because vacations will be over and more people can attend. On Friday night, Sept 29, we will have an informal get together at Tony K’s on Bagley Road. Tony has agreed to let us have his party room free of charge and also half of the outdoor patio that would be available. (Weather Permitting) Cash bar and food at your expense. Saturday night we’ve arranged for a dinner dancing cruise on the Nautica Queen. We would depart the dock in Cleveland around 7:00pm. Dinners will be served on board and dancing following. We should arrive back at the dock around 10:00pm. This will cost around $47.00 per person. This is for the ticket and dinner. Cash Bar. Each alum will be able to make their own reservations and payment on line or by phone. This avoids us laying out a large sum of money for a room and meal. Saturday during the day and Sunday during the day are still up in the air.
Now comes the fun part. I have the Berea High Alumni Directory from 2011. I have addresses for most of the class from that book. There are a few that never got listed. I will need to know contact info for each classmate. Name, Address, Phone, email. I need to know if you are planning on attending, Definitely Yes, Yes, Maybe, No, Definitely No. Just respond to my personal email: email@example.com. We really have no money to constantly send out mailers so email will be the preferred method of contact. Also, if you are in contact with other classmates, include them in your response and I’ll add them to the data base. If you have any questions or comments, please contact me through the Class Creator website, Facebook or my personal email or text to 440.315.3008
Go Braves; Mike Wrobel
BEREA HIGH CLASS OF ’67 50TH REUNION
We finally have everything finalized for our 50th reunion.
On Friday night Sept 29th, we are planning an informal get together at Tony K’s Bar & Grille, 841 West Bagley, Berea. Festivities will start at 6:30 until ?????
Saturday evening is the cruise aboard the Nautica Queen. It’s a 3-hour tour. You can get info at NauticaQueen.com.
I have made arrangements with the Hilton Garden Inn Airport for lodging. Rate is $89 per night. They have reserved a block of rooms and said they would honor the price for up until 2 weeks prior to the event.
The cost for the Nautica Queen is $53.50 per person if you pay by credit card and $50.00 per person if you pay by check. This includes the fare, unlimited buffet, and entertainment. There was an issue with the booking of the event. I had originally wanted each classmate to book his or her own reservation. They won’t do this if we want seating together. So I had book it as a group. That means you have to send your check to me for the tickets or pay by credit card at the link on this website. Send checks to me:
43800 Albrecht Road
Elyria, OH 44035
Most important, time is of the essence for the cruise tickets. We do not have the whole ship reserved. Public tickets will be available also. Once the ship is sold out, that’s it. No more tickets will be issued. So to guarantee your seat, get your money into me as soon as possible.
If you have any questions, email me at:
There is a new link on the website for our reunion.
PS: If you’re handicapped in need of a wheelchair, contact me through my email.
The ship requires ability to go up and down stairs to the restrooms.
I hope you like the new layout. I wanted to let you know, the "Log Out" selection is in the drop down menu, click on the little "head and shoulder" in the upper right hand corner. Let me know if you have any questions or comments!
