School Story:
My starkest memory is the senior year talent contest held in the (then) brand new auditorium. Performing with Bill Bowman's band "Refuse," we brought all-out mayhem to Groves and all of us almost got suspended. The band threw marshmellows at the audience, and in our youthful hunris did not realize that they would melt underfoot of the crowd and ruin the brand new carpet. The poor art teacher in charge got in a lot of trouble and all of us were almost kicked out of school. (I think Bill Bowman did get expelled for a few days). I was later kicked out of graduation by the principal for not having a graduation cap, probably because during our performance I unplugged my guitar, jumped off the stage and ran up to him and gave him the "Gene Simmons" tongue...he was clearly not amused!
I also have fond memories of Sam Raime's home movies shown in the auditorium for $1. I always knew he, Scott Speigel and Bruce Cambell would be very successful and it was a hoot to see Sam on the lot at Sony from time to time.
