After graduating from Schurz, I became a radiologic technologist. I attended Northwestern University, completed my BS at University of St. Francis and graduated when I was 50 (unlike many of you).
In 1965, I had a son, John Walter Cummings, who I gave up for adoption. We were reunited in 1993. Because of that experience I have been involved with Truth Seekers in Adoption for the last 16 years. Contact me if you would like to search. 630-337-2627
I married Robert C. Koptik in 1974. We have a daughter, Cami Koptik, and two grandchildren – Grace DeEtte Nordahl and Charles Andrew Nordahl who are the joy of Bob and my lives. We live in Aurora and Cami and her family is 2 miles away. I am a stepmom to three sons, Peter, Stephan and David. We have three additional grandchildren.
I worked at Lutheran General for 30 years-as the Administrative Director for the last 15 years. I have been the Admin Director of Radiation Oncology Services as Alexian Brothers and St. Alexius Medical Centers for the last 16 years. I changed hospitals after I had Breast Cancer as I felt I could use that experience working with patients dealing with Cancer. My plan is to work until I am 70.
I have been active at the Methodist Church in Downers Grove. The choir directors can’t believe that our high school chorus did “The Messiah” and “Seven Last Words of Christ” each year.
I have been blessed in many ways and feel that my purpose in life has been to serve others.
