Diane Lundahl (LaCombe)

Diane (Lundahl) LaCombe, 80, passed peacefully in her sleep on January 23, 2023. She was loved and cared for by her family, friends and will be so missed. Diane is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Merle Lundahl, her beloved husband David, her brother Dave, and son Stuart Holmberg.

Diane grew up in the North side of Chicago and loved Chicago so much. She often talked about family trips to Lake Michigan and spending her childhood taking classes at the Art Institute. She eventually made her way to call Texas home. Her main passion was working as a cardiac nurse - she touched many people with years of service.

Diane had a love for art and creativity in many different mediums. She made paintings, collages and crafts every chance she got. Her love of science fiction often made its way into her art also.
She was also a writer and was an active member of the San Antonio Writers Guild. She won several treasured awards for her short stories.

Diane is survived by her children, Dorianne Bloom, Thomas Holmberg, Jennifer Brody, Geoffery Holmberg, John Holmberg, Charles Holmberg, Donald Holmberg, David Scott LaCombe, and Jody Wynn, her nieces and nephews, cousins and her many grandchildren.

Funeral Services with Reception to follow will be:
Saturday, February 4, at 10 a.m.
St. Francis by the Lake
121 Spring Mountain Dr.
Canyon Lake, TX 78133

Our hearts go out to Diane's family at the passing of one of our own Schurzites.  She left a beautiful legacy for them.
