Marilyn Salenick (Koepke)

BATAVIA - Marilyn Ann Koepke, age 75, passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Holy Family Hospital in Des Plaines with her loving family at her side. She was born August 29, 1942 in Chicago, the daughter of Chester and Anna (Szaleniec) Skora. Marilyn graduated from Schurz High School in Chicago in 1960 and then Chicago City Junior College. Prior to raising her family, she worked for many years as an office assistant for several law firms and brokerage firms in Chicago. In later years, Marilyn worked as a travel agent. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed volunteering as an usher at Paramount Arts Center, Aurora. Marilyn will be dearly missed by her loving family and dear friends. She is survived by her son Philip of Missouri and daughter Melissa of Batavia; brother Richard; father of her children, James of Colorado; and many other dear relatives and friends. Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents. A visitation will be held Friday, September 8, 2017 from 10:00 am until the time of her memorial service at 12:00 noon at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. Marilyn was a sweet and lovely girl in high school and it looks as though she was a productive and caring adult.  I am so sorry for her family and friends and extend my deepest sympathy to all.

I met Marilyn Freshman year in Miss Ryan's algebra class. I sat behind her in class. I remember our interesting conversations and her sense of humor. I extend my sincere condolence to her family.    Karen Schultz Meier
