She was a very nice person. Freshman (freshperson?) year we were in Drafting class together. She tried to get me to smile more, and encouraged me in her own way. At the time, as a child, I did not like that "teasing," but later I realized that she meant well. Our paths did not cross again, but her kindness left an indelible mark on me. I still need to smile more. I will smile now in her honor.

Last month I was inducted as a Fellow in a major Intellectual Property law group, the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA). I was humbled by this recognition in the field, and wanted to share with my classmates.
