Joseph Edward LaPointe, 66, of Valparaiso, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Porter Regional Hospital.

Cremation will take place. Midwest Crematory, 678 E Hupp Rd, La Porte, 219-362-1500 is caring for the arrangements.

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I heard of my friend Joseph LaPointe's passing. For many years we worked together at the valparaiso home depot. It was there our friendship began. But our friendship went beyond work. I enjoyed highs and lows with Joe. We shared many a meal and great conversation. He was always there for me anytime I needed him. He taught me how to install windows and doors. His kind smile always put me in a better mood. He loved his dogs (Sadie and Norma). And he loved his wife Carol. Joe, I love you. I will miss you dearly. This world will not be the same without you. Sleep well friend. You will live on in my memory, and I will think of you fondly and often.
